Lotus is seen as the sign of purity. Fish is seen as the emblem of fertility. Lotus is seen in the pond in temples and is also used as offering to god. Lotus in a muddy grows without letting anything hinder its beauty . like wise we should not let bad things around us influence us.
The center of the design is four fishes facing away from each other forming a square like shape. Four big fishes are so placed that they are facing the small fishes in the center design. Between this big fishes we see fully bloomed lotus with leaves and lotus buds.
There is symmetry in the design. The color combination is also balanced. Emphasis is given to the design by the small fishes facing away from each other. It comes under the category of Fish kolam, flower kolam and rangoli. It can drawn with the help of dots or just as a rangoli.
